Legend of the Galactic Heroes (Japanese: 銀河英雄伝説, Ginga Eiyū Densetsu), sometimes referred to as 'Heldensagen von Kosmosinsel' (lit. heroic tales of the galactic island) is the name of two manga series based on the novel series of the same name.
The first adaptation, published form 1986 to 2000, was written by Katsumi Michihara. The second manga series was serialized from 2006 to 2012 and received the title Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Portrait of Heroes.
