Legend of the Galactic Heroes (銀河英雄伝説 Ginga Eiyū Densetsu) referred to as Heldensagen vom Kosmosinsel is a series of by Tanaka Yoshiki.
The series received an anime adaptation and ran from 1988 to 1997. Moreover, it also got a manga adaptation with art by Katsumi Michihara. Also, there are several video game adaptations.
In April 2018, Production I.G released a new anime adaptation of the space opera, by Production I.G ran to June 2018. A sequel trilogy film premiered in September 2019.
Plot[]
In the distant future, there's an interstellar going on. For more than two centuries, the monarchic and the democratic have been in constant battle. The series focuses on the exploits of rivals Reinhard von Lohengramm and Yang Wen-li as they rise to power and fame in the Galactic Empire and the Free Planets Alliance, respectively.
