石黒 昇 Ishiguro Noboru （August 24, 1938 to present) is a Tokyo-born animator, director and artist. Early in his carreer, Ishiguro worked on Astro Boy and Space Battleship Yamato, though he is perhaps best known for his role as director of the main Legend of Galactic Heroes OVA series. Ishiguro has been interviewed many times on the the subject of animation, and has even co-written a book about his work, techniques and thoughts on animation.
